“I’m not lost for I know where I am. But however, where I am may be lost.” Winnie The Pooh

For all my friends who feel just as confused as I do today.

Collage is one of my all time favourite artistic forms. As ever fashion trends mimic art and over the past few seasons designers like Eudon Choi, Fendi, Proenza Schouler, Preen and Rodarte (to name only a few) have been creating incredible pieces of clothing clearly inspired by collage. Some of my favourite artists of all time include John Stezaker, Linder Sterling, Joe Webb and Sammy Slabbinck. Am definitely going to fiddle a little more with my own collages me thinks!

In honour of the lovely Esther Williams aka ‘The Million Dollar Mermaid’. As a youth Esther was a master swimmer who went on to become a movie star at MGM studios during the boom of the glorious technicolour era. Her synchronised swimming scenes and watery fantasy worlds worked perfectly for this era in cinema. I’d do anything to see the world through technicolour lenses..

In an ideal world my summer will include a little from every one of these photos… books, plaits, dancing, bikinis, love, friends, bare legs and a little bit of surf… Watch this space!

My week in pretty pictures… Enjoy! :)

Photographer, or should I say photographers, of the week -  Boe Marion. Love their work for their delights in nostalgia and unusual post production. Collages, manipulation and use of original techniques to create truly unique images.

Turn yourselves on with your Electric Feel people! I sure as hell will be. It’s May, and it’s Friday tomorrow.

Ellen Gallagher is a multi disciplinary contemporary American artist. Her work is being exhibited currently at the Tate Modern so I popped down with a friend to take a look. I adored her grid like collages and primarily “DeLuxe”. Her use of repetition really appealed as did her use of plasticine on the collages; something I’d never seen before but would love to try out…

I think most of us are craving sunshine at the moment. Am thinking that if we are not getting it from the grey British skies above our heads we can at least imagine/ pretend. In the words of The Carter Sisters, keep on the sunny side of life.
